Trinity Mission Works
9 Day Mission Trip to Trujillo, Honduras
a Construction Project is now scheduled for June '05
The trip will depart on Friday (June 10) and return Saturday (June 18) subject to minor date adjustments as dictated by airfare pricing. The scope of work will be 2 parts. One portion will be performed by our local professional fire fighters who will work hand in hand with Hondurans in training them to use fire fighting equipment that we hope to have delivered by the time of the trip. The other component of this trip will include construction work on a small church in Trujillo. All areas of construction labor will be needed, both skilled and unskilled. Some basic tools will be taken on the trip and will be determined closer to departure date and as the scope of work is more clearly defined. There will be meetings prior to the trip that will fill in the information gaps that currently exist. This is a taste of what you can expect:
You will wait to board the
BIG plane
for the flight to Honduras
and then you will wait to board a smaller plane
for the short hop to LaCeiba
the third largest city in Honduras
then you will be packed
into a passenger van
and drive for 2-3 hours to Trujillo, a beautiful hillside city on Bahia de
Trujillo (Bay of Trujillo)
where we will stay at the Christopher Columbus Resort Hotel (unconfirmed at
present)
the Bay and the pool
work well together to refresh you after a long day
of construction work in the Honduran sun
You will ride
back and forth to the jobsite, church and to eat
in various modes
of transportation, maybe even something
a little bit
unconventional
The construction work
will vary
and
there
will be PLENTY of it
but at the end of the trip
you will be a changed person
and go home with a love
for these wonderful Honduran people
you will meet
go to Church with
share meals with
and you will have a new appreciation for your family, a new perspective on your material blessings here in the US and a desire to help others. If you believe a trip like this is something you feel called to participate in, let us know. The cost of the trip will be around $950 per person and we will need to raise funds for the construction material that will be required. A $200 deposit will be required to hold a position on the trip and full or progressive payments will be made in advance of departure.
If you feel that a trip other than construction is of interest let us know that also. We can put together medical, evangelical and youth trips as well. Other types of trips can be combined with this trip if there is enough participation to support it. We look forward to hearing from you. Click HERE for details from a previous trip.
